Yooralla’s First Base program is run as part of the Yooralla organisations Day Services and focuses on people over 18 (adults) with intellectual and physical disabilities. The program is designed and developed around assisting clients to make the transition to an adult lifestyle by developing skills and realising individual goals through specialised programs.
Some of the programs focus on community inclusion for the clients, with the goal of finding ‘valued roles’ in their local community. First Base provides community based facilities developed with fully equipped therapy rooms where services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology. First Base Ferntree Gully offers close proximity and easy access to both public transport and community infrastructure, encouraging participants to access educational courses, sporting, social and recreational groups and to find employment.
